Bench is a British fashion line started in 1989 as a t-shirt brand with influential designs by BMX biking and skateboarding. Over the years the brand has developed into other areas of fashion and accessories that has spread worldwide but was originally founded in Manchester. It specialises in street wear and the brands Manchester toots can be seen in the montage of the Manchester skyline which is used as a design on some of their fashion products. Bench evolved and expanded into women’s wear in 1998 with a range of jackets and tops that had the same street style as menswear. The company has its own stores but also sells through various other retailers.
