Much like Audrey Hepburn, we think Paris is always a good idea. Paris Fashion Week is one of the highlights of our style calendar, and this year has been no exception, with beautiful designs sashaying down the catwalk. Here’s a rundown of some of our favourites to date…
Anrealage
Structure, pleating and exaggerated shapes played a huge part in the Anrealage show this year. Run by Kunihko Morinaga, the Japanese design house got heads turning with bold lines and dramatic detailing. Leather, monochrome and stripes were flavours of the day, and the models wore blindfolds to create even more of an impact.
Guy Laroche
Military never goes out of style, and Guy Laroche’s SS16 catwalk collection paid true homage to the trend. Leather miniskirts featured thick chain detailing; heavily embellished coats were decorated with dramatic gold braiding; and flashes of skin peeked through strategically placed cut-outs.
Dries Van Noten
Full of humour and quirks, the Dries Van Noten collection was as flamboyant as could be. A rainbow of colours in all array of fabrics and textures danced past the front row; sea-blue teal jacquard, hot pink silk brassieres, and sheer mustard lace brought some eccentricity to the fashion capital.
