Derek Rose is one of those luxurious, understated brands that tend to stay under the radar...
Developed for those who want the very best in life, Derek Rose has tailored the nightwear of royalty, film stars and musical legends, but in an admirably discreet way. With no flashy logos or jumping on the back of celebrity, Derek Rose values quality and impeccable design over anything else.
The brand’s story begins in 1926 when Lou Rose started the business in London, using the finest silks and cottons to create luxurious nightwear. In 1953, it relaunched when son Derek Rose joined the business and lent his name to the brand. Since then it has gone from strength to strength, receiving the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in 1987, and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the UK Fashion Exports Awards.
Today, the brand stays within the Rose family, with Derek’s daughter Nancy (who is now Design Director) joining in 1995, and Sacha (who is now Managing Director) joining in 2005. Those original values that Lou set when he founded the business is still very much at the heart of Derek Rose, creating the finest nightwear that combines traditional designs with unique styles, patterns and fabrics.
